Employer scheme

MONEY FOR YOUR COMPANY AND AN ENTHUSIASTIC WORK FORCE FOR FREE

1824jobs.com aim to find jobs for the young long term unemployed by using government grants, charity donations and sponsorship to create incubator training/hot desk centres. Initially starting with wokinginc.co.uk and then developing venues throughout the country.

1824jobs.com will also act as an intermediary and market the Future Jobs Fund opportunity to companies/organisations, showing them how employing the young could benefit their bottom line.

HOW CAN THIS HELP ME AND MY COMPANY?

The Future Jobs Fund targets 18 - 24 year old that have been unemployed for more than 6 months. Organisations who apply for funding are tasked with finding new employment for 26 hours a week over a 6 month period.

Many long term unemployed are not fit for work. Providing them with skills to find and prosper in new jobs.

Given the state of the economy and projected increases in unemployment it is unlikely that this funding will be used by existing companies. The Woking Incubator pilot aims to create 150 new jobs.

ONLY A SHORT WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY

Though the Future Jobs Fund is closed to new applications, it is estimated that £680 million has still to be used organisations that were allocated grants for finding jobs for the long term unemployed.

The government has allowed successful organisations until the 1st October 2010 to find new jobs (as per their application ) or repay any advanced funding.

We estimate that £680 million allocated to the scheme has not used for employment contracts.

WHO ARE 18 24 JOBS

1824jobs.com and wokinginc.co.uk are social enterprises that use profits to support the people using their schemes and give investors a return on their investment.

Through www.socialinvest.co.uk we aim to find further funding to take the Woking Incubator pilot beyond Easter 2011 and create 1500 jobs nationwide.

NEW SCHEMES

It is difficult to predict what the new Con/Lib government will do to support the long term jobless into work/self employment.

Early indications are that they have scrapped most if not all of the previous governments' programmes and have announced several ‘big sticks’ to cut benefits.

We hope that new positive schemes will be put in place to help us take the Woking Incubator pilot across the country.
